We believe that technical education is the key to lifting people out
of poverty and into rewarding careers in IT.
a professional certification in IT Support or Project Management is accepted industry-wide. And, once that student is certified, he or she can become an IT consultant and get on the path to steady income.
IT expertise has grown from in-demand to invaluable in today’s economy. Technical education gives students the chance to gain professional IT certifications after high school and help them secure a well-paying job. For example,

Our vision is to build a pipeline of Tech Heroes
Our expectation is that our students, once certified and employed, become role models in the IT workforce and Tech Heroes to other underserved youth.
Here at Urban Tech Hero, we are building a community of Tech Heroes—our term for professionals who volunteer to be a role model and support students throughout their IT certification and employment journey.
We provide students relevant work experience during their training so once certified, they can get hired for a skilled IT job
We offer students surveys to identify their strengths and get them enrolled in the IT certification that best suits them
We provide students with mentoring support from a professional affiliated with our program—what we call a Tech Hero
Urban Tech Hero takes young people in disadvantaged communities who are heading for a life of poverty, offers them best-in-class technical training at no cost and helps them land tech jobs that suit their strengths.
